Introducing one of our favourite artists, who through diversity and positivity, celebrates the modern confident female through her art.
We mutually connected with Ana through the desire to create pieces that are led by bold colour; straying from the stereotypical, whilst focusing on design and art that empowers women.

ON OBSERVATION YOUR SUBJECT MATTER IS FOCUSED AROUND THE FEMALE FORM, IS THIS INTENTIONAL OR SOMETHING THAT HAS NATURALLY EVOLVED?
Female aesthetics have always been judged and defined by the fullness of its shape, in a way I try to avoid all beauty stereotypes by playing with the disruption of the human form.”
YOUR USE OF COLOUR IS PARTICULARLY DRAWING, IS THIS INSPIRED BY YOUR NATURAL SURROUNDINGS?
When it comes to color in my work I believe the more the merrier haha, it´s the part of the creation process I enjoy the most, I follow no rule or guideline whatsoever and I love it.
WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO BASED?
My studio is currently based in Mexico City, however I have juicy plans of going back to the beach.. I will keep you posted on my next adventure.”
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR CREATIVE JOURNEY?
After a while as a designer I realised I was stuck in my confort zone and wasn't really happy.
Long story short I packed my bags, moved to Barcelona, did a masters in Illustration, met the most amazing creative people and finally got the courage to dedicate myself full-time to art.
Came back to Mexico and been doing this ever since. For sure the best decision I have ever made so far. though the journey has not been easy it definitely has been worth it.”
YOUR PAINTINGS FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE IN THE FASHION WORLD, DO YOU FIND FASHION A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION, IF SO ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR DESIGNERS YOU FOLLOW?
There are many fashion brands that inspire my work but to name a few Mara Hoffman, Johanna Ortiz, Paloma Wool, Elie Saab, Kris Goyri...”
WHAT'S YOUR BIGGEST FASHION FAUX PASS?
Ana—“Oooh god there were so many back in my teen days… like the overuse of eye shadow or wearing a thick ribbon as a belt.”
YOUR PIECES FEEL VERY LIBERATED, DO YOU FEEL CONNECTED TO POLITICS AND IS THIS SOMETHING YOU INTEND TO PORTRAY DURING YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS?
LIVING IN LONDON WE KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO MAKE A LIVING FROM YOUR ART, HOW HAVE YOU MANAGED TO BALANCE YOUR ART AND LIVELIHOOD?

Ana—“going dancing with my gal Pals always help or stepping out to my garden with a good book, wine/coffee and music.”
WHAT'S A SONG THAT ALWAYS MAKES YOU DANCE?

Ana—“Plants, scented candles, shoes and notebooks.”
WHAT'S YOUR MORNING ROUTINE?
Ana—“open every window in my home while drinking a cup of tea, then I go for a run, followed by a big breakfast (my fave part of the day haha) quick shower and off to the studio!”
